Always be the second doctor at an arrest. That's what I learnt in my intern year. Basically, as a junior doctor, you don't want to be telling any nurses, other doctors or even cleaners how to do their job. Working overnight on ward-call, I attended many cardiac arrests, and they were so bloody stressful that one never remembers anything.

Me and the Russian* we have a lot in common.
We both like Lily Allen. We have Italian as our second language (except she speaks a little English, and my Russian is worse than western wodka). And we both have little diagrams of our road bike measurements, so that when we arrive in a new country, to ride for a new team, on a new bike, all is not lost.

Timing is everything, and it can certainly lead to sleepless nights of worry and a big sigh of relief, all in the one rushed month before departing for Italy! My first ever professional cycling contract with Team Valdarno is going to be a steep learning curve! The team is stacked with champions, including 2009 road World Champion, Tatiana Guderzo, and the team road bike is Corratec, built up with SRAM Red (yay!)
